Mari Harris holds a Master of Arts in American History from Gettysburg College and a Master of Education-Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Idaho. Her graduate research focused on the role of protest in granting women agency and recognition as stakeholders during the American Revolution. She also conducted research on using authentic tasks to understand and change student perceptions of history courses. She earned her Bachelor of Science in History and a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Idaho.


With a passion for all of U.S. History, Mari specializes in later 18th and 19th-century America and societal changes. In her free time, she enjoys traveling to historical sites to connect with the places where history was made. Mari continuously works on improving her historical knowledge and pedagogy. Using conferences, dual credit, and programs like Project Archaeology, Mari is dedicated to providing professional development for other history teachers.
