As long as I can remember, I wanted to be a nurse and once I became one, I knew I wanted to teach others who are entering this very rewarding profession.

I started my nursing career working as a nursing assistant while I went to school to become a Practical Nurse. After several years, I returned to school to become a Registered Nurse and earned nursing degrees (ADN, BSN, MSN) at Excelsior College in New York state.

Before I came to teaching, I worked in many different settings – inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient wound care/hyperbaric medicine, and in Quality and Patient Safety. That is one of the things I like best about nursing – it is vast and varied and there are many opportunities to explore and different paths to take!

In my spare time I enjoy the outdoors – I love to hike and am an avid gardener. I also like to read, work on crafts and projects around the house, attend concerts and spend quality time with family, friends, and my cranky very spoiled cat.
