A video team will be on campus, Dec. 3-4, capturing holiday greetings at four different locations:
Tuesday, December 3
Micron Center for Professional Technical Education – Main Lobby
10:30 a.m. – Noon
Ada County Center – Common Area (Coffee Shop)
1:30 – 2:30 p.m.
Wednesday, December 4

Anyone interested in participating is welcome to stop by one of the locations during the designated time and record their holiday wishes. There will be Christmas props available and greetings can be recorded by individuals, departments, classes, programs, and clubs. Please direct any questions to communications@cwi.edu.
CWI Holiday Hours Updated Online
The holiday season is rapidly approaching and with that comes the opportunity for employees to enjoy time off during the College’s observed holidays. This month, all College of Western Idaho (CWI) campus locations will be closed on Nov. 28-29 in recognition of Thanksgiving. There will also be no classes for credit programs and Adult Basic Education, Nov. 25-30.
As a result of the Thanksgiving closure, Bert’s Alerts will not be sent on Nov. 29. The weekly employee newsletter will resume its regular schedule on Dec. 6.
Please reference the CWI 2013 Holiday Schedule online for details on the College’s holiday closures and hours of operation.

Over 100 Volunteers Help CWI Rake Up Boise and Nampa
College of Western Idaho (CWI) made a very visible impact on the Treasure Valley last weekend, as over 100 employees and students joined forces on Saturday (Nov. 15) for the annual Rake Up Boise and Nampa events. CWI teams gathered leaves at seven houses while also providing pruning services from CWI Horticulture program faculty and students from the Horticulture Club.
The Rake Up Boise effort saw over 50 employees and students rally together to serve three homes. In Nampa, a group of 27 volunteers led by the Fun and Culture Committee partnered with students to rake leaves at 4 houses.
CWI Master Plan Update
CTA Architects/SRG was selected to complete Phase II of the College of Western Idaho (CWI) Campus Master Plan.
The State Permanent Building fund approved CWI’s request for funds to further work on the current master plan to address new priorities and reflect the growth and changes surrounding the College's Nampa Campus location. Idaho Division of Public Works is coordinating and administering all aspects of the project and included the City of Nampa and CWI on the interview committee who ultimately selected CTA/SRG as the contractor.
This will be CWI’s first experience with CTA. They have completed most of the master planning for College of Southern Idaho and most recently working on the Scentsy master plan and complex in Meridian.
Division of Public Works is in the process of finalizing the contract and will reach out to CWI to develop a schedule and identify participants from the College as we transition into the next phase. Timing will likely reflect a kick off when students return for the Spring semester. For more information on the RFQ results please visit the Division of Public Works website.
