CWI Returns to Capitol this Month
The 2017 Idaho Legislative Session is underway, which means the state’s public colleges and universities will be spending a considerable amount of time in Boise this January and February. College of Western Idaho (CWI) will be participating in several legislative activities aimed at showcasing the role CWI plays in providing the community access to high quality education.
The events will kick off with Education Week at the Capitol and CWI’s presentation to the Joint Finance-Appropriations Committee; which approves a substantial portion of CWI’s budget. The presidents from the three community colleges will also participate in joint presentations to the House Education and Senate Education committees. Finally, a luncheon will be hosted by all three community colleges to engage in conversations with legislators and highlight the value each institution provides Idaho.

Help Recognize Outstanding Faculty
The College of Western Idaho (CWI) Faculty Recognition Committee would like to remind employees that it is continuously accepting nominations for the monthly Faculty of Distinction award. Faculty, staff, students, and administrators are encouraged to nominate a faculty member that they feel is doing an outstanding job of meeting one or more of CWI’s Core Values:
- Acting With Integrity
- Serving All in an Atmosphere of Caring
- Sustaining our Quality of Life for Future Generations
- Respecting the Dignity of Opinions
