Nordstrom Celebrated as Faculty of Distinction
The College of Western Idaho (CWI) Faculty Recognition Committee is celebrating its nominees for CWI’s Faculty of Distinction for the summer months. Please join in congratulating John Nordstrom for being selected June Faculty of Distinction for his overall performance and service to the College and it’s community.
Nordstrom, who is the Business Department Chair, is known for being wonderful with his students. He truly cares about them and their success. A former student shares, “knowing that John cares makes a huge difference and I feel that I can succeed having John on my side.”
Nordstrom has been a great resource for other faculty and is a tremendous mentor. He is always available when there is a question or an issue.
Congratulations John on being named Faculty of Distinction. Thank you for your dedication and outstanding service to the College.
CWI Employees Supporting Animal Shelter
The College of Western Idaho (CWI) Fun and Culture Committee (FCC) is striving to provide more community outreach through volunteer opportunities. As part of this initiative the FCC is planning to begin supporting the Canyon County Animal Shelter on a regular basis. The FCC would like to invite all employees to join the volunteer effort.
In the past the FCC has supported activities like Rake-Up Nampa and Race for the Cure, while also leading volunteer efforts like hosting a book drive for the Canyon-Owyhee School Service Agency (COSSA) library. The FCC still plans to participate in these annual events but would like to commit to helping other organizations in our community on a regular basis.
The Canyon County Animal Shelter needs help walking dogs, brushing cats, and other projects around the facility. In order to help with the animals, volunteers must complete an orientation session. The FCC has secured a spot in the next orientation session on Saturday, Sept. 6, at 11 a.m. at the Canyon County Animal Shelter.
Anyone interested in volunteering please contact Lindsay Reynolds at lindsayreynolds@cwi.edu or 208.562.2377.
