Technology Governance Framework Approved
On Wednesday, April 2, President Bert Glandon announced the addition of a new committee structure at College of Western Idaho (CWI) intended to synergize planning for and implementation of new technologies. With guidance from the Office of Information Technology, President’s Cabinet (PC) has approved a new Technology Governance Framework to help define and streamline technology-related processes and operations.
The Technology Governance Framework outlines a committee structure for providing collaborative guidance to improve efficiencies and meet CWI’s institutional priorities. The new Technology Governance Framework will help bring together existing committees that have been meeting independently. The goal is to ensure that all areas of the College can contribute to the dialogue about technology needs and priorities throughout the strategic planning and budgeting processes.
The Technology Governance Framework will be led by the Information Technology Executive Council, which consists of members of PC and is chaired by Chief Information Officer, Dwayne Cable. This group held its first organizing meeting on March 10, and will meet the second Monday of each month, prior to President’s Cabinet. Reporting to the IT Executive Council are two comprehensive committees: (1) the Academic Technology Advisory Committee (ATAC), with faculty representatives from every academic division and (2) the Enterprise Technology Advisory Committee (ETAC), with staff leadership responsible for respective areas of the administrative information systems. Student input will be facilitated by both committees as needed, including collaboration with the Associated Students of the College of Western Idaho. The committees will meet on a monthly basis, starting in April, once the best dates and times are established.
Employees are encouraged to follow the hyperlinks and review the associated documents, which outline membership and responsibilities defined in the Technology Governance Framework. All questions can be directed to Dwayne Cable at 208.562.2089 or dwaynecable@cwi.edu.

Artists-in-Residence at The College of Idaho, the Langroise Trio plays an important role in arts education by providing students, educators and professional musicians with the broad education, specialized skills, and diversified experience they will need to become versatile music leaders who will shape our musical and cultural future. The Trio’s mission is to create a culture of mastery through the study of violin, viola, and cello; providing instruction and performance of the highest standard.
