Trustee Resigns from CWI Board

Published: June 9, 2022

College of Western Idaho (CWI) Board of Trustees accepted the resignation of Samantha Guerrero as trustee for Zone 1 during the board’s monthly meeting on Thursday, June 9.

“I have greatly enjoyed the experience of serving on the Board and would like to thank everyone who helped me in serving in this role,” said Guerrero. “Thinking of the responsibility I carry currently, it is important that I focus on my well-being and my family. I know that our Board of Trustees is invested in supporting the diversity in our communities, building equity, and creating a safe campus.”

CWI is governed by a volunteer, five-member board of trustees. Trustees are elected at large from within Ada and Canyon Counties for staggered, four-year terms.

Guerrero added, “In my time with CWI, I am proud to have served on the Student Success Committee, to have been part of choosing the best leadership for the college, to have advocated for more scholarships for students during the pandemic.”

“The Board is thankful for Trustee Guerrero and her service to the College and community,” said Board Chair Molly Lenty. “We will now focus on identifying someone from Zone 1 to fill the role and we are deeply dedicated to the very important work of advancing the College and to serving our students and communities here in the Treasure Valley.”

Persons interested in the open seat and who meet the trustee zone requirements should contact the Board at trustees@cwi.edu or visit online for more information.
