“College of Western Idaho (CWI) empowered me by giving me an opportunity to gain experience in a subject I was passionate about,” said 2015 alumna, Jordie Seward. “The knowledge and opportunities provided at CWI motivated me to continue advancing to reach my highest potential.”
Inspired to attend college to pursue something meaningful and to continue expanding her knowledge, Jordie said CWI was appealing because of its smaller class sizes.
As a student, Jordie was a member of the Exercise and Health Science Club where she says she built quality and lasting relationships with her peers.
“This positively influenced my education, specifically, the opportunity to intern at the Olympic Oval and network with trainers, coaches, and elite athletes. I am so thankful for the confidence built during this time.”
Jordie graduated from CWI with an associate degree in Exercise Science in 2015. She transferred to University of Nevada Reno where she completed a bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Dietetics in 2017.
“Because of CWI, I gained self-confidence and received a strong educational foundation to build upon.”
Now a registered dietitian, she has enlisted in the Idaho Army National Guard where she will use her knowledge and passion to assist soldiers in maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
