On Nov. 8, College of Western Idaho (CWI) invites anyone interested in the Medical Assisting career field to explore the opportunities available through the College’s degree program. Instructors, students, and advisors will be on-hand to talk with attendees and help answer questions about the program and careers.
The Medical Assisting field is exploding and is expected to grow over 28 percent in Idaho by 2024 (source EMSI). There is an average of 120 medical assistants hired each month in Idaho and the CWI program can prepare you for this exciting field.

As a medical assistant, you will work alongside physicians, primarily in outpatient or ambulatory care facilities, such as medical offices and clinics. You will be cross-trained to perform clinical and administrative responsibilities.
When you complete the Medical Assisting degree program at CWI, you will earn an Associate of Applied Science, from a regionally accredited institution. CWI’s accreditation makes it possible for you to transfer your credits to four-year institutions such as Boise State, where your credits can be applied towards a Bachelor of Applied Science Degree (see a transfer advisor at your desired institution for complete details).
