Laura Mulkey has been named the new Executive Director of the College of Western Idaho (CWI) Foundation.
Mulkey will drive fundraising efforts of the Foundation, the nonprofit organization responsible for supporting the College mission. The Foundation partners with individuals, companies, foundations, and organizations to assist students with scholarships, provide start-up funds for education programs, and fund long-term capital plans to generate educational opportunities for our community. Mulkey will report to CWI Vice President of Operations, Craig Brown.
“We’re excited to have Laura Mulkey join our team, she brings to CWI a wealth of knowledge and expertise in guiding nonprofit foundations to success,” said Brown. “As we grow to meet the needs of the 30,000 students we serve, Laura will be instrumental in leading the CWI Foundation.”
Mulkey replaces Mitch Minnette, who became CEO of the Nampa Chamber of Commerce, in January.
Prior to CWI, Mulkey worked for the Westminster Legacy Foundation in Westminster, Colorado. In addition, she lived in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, for nine years — working as executive director at LiftUp of Routt County, an organization providing emergency support and self-sufficiency programs to the county’s low-income residents.
Mulkey is an alumna of Southern Methodist University, earning her bachelor’s degree in English with a minor in Public Relations. She will begin working for the College on Feb. 20.
