College of Western Idaho (CWI) is accepting applications for its Medical Assistant Degree program, which allows students to earn an Associate of Applied Science degree. CWI is accepting applications through Dec. 6. Classes start Jan. 16 for a limited number of seats.
There is growing demand for medical assistants both nationally and in Idaho. The career field is expected to grow over 28 percent in Idaho by 2024. There is an average of 120 medical assistants hired each month in Idaho, and the CWI Medical Assistant program can prepare you for this exciting field.
Medical assistants work alongside physicians, primarily in outpatient or ambulatory care facilities, such as medical offices and clinics. They are cross-trained to perform clinical and administrative responsibilities.
