Derrick Snow received an AA degree in Social Sciences, a BA in Philosophy and Sociology from Boise State University, an MA in Sociology from New Mexico State University, and will hold a PhD in Social Research (ABD) from Omega Graduate School. Derrick is an applied medical sociologist in the healthcare analytics field who has worked in state government and is currently in the clinical setting. His research interests are Medical Sociology/Sociology of Health and Illness, Healthcare Research, Applied Sociology, Rural Sociology, Population Health, Demography, and Social Geography. Derrick has taught college-level sociology courses for a number of years and enjoys sharing “the most fruitful form of self-consciousness” (C. Wright Mills) found in sociology with his students.
Derrick served in the U.S. Marine Corps as an infantryman during the first Gulf War; he is married to a wonderful woman and has three adult children, enjoys listening to the blues, visiting our fine Idaho wineries, and enjoys working on their small acreage and being in the great outdoors.
