Testing Services Policies

1. Testers must present valid photo ID (non-expired government issued driver’s license, state ID, military ID, passport, legal resident ID, or current CWI student ID) prior to any exam. Any high school ID card must be from the current school year only and can only be used for the Math or English placements. We cannot accept photos of IDs.

2. All proctored exams must be scheduled at least 12 hours prior to taking the exam. (24 hours prior for SDS Accommodated Testing.) Walk-in exams are not permitted at this time.

  • It is the student's responsibility to know who their instructor is, course name and number, exam time limits, open and close dates, restrictions and permitted items.

3. If a student arrives more than 15 minutes late to their scheduled appointment, they may need to reschedule. If a student calls before their scheduled test time indicating they will be more than 15 minutes late, their appointment will be moved to the next available slot in the same day if possible, depending on availability.

4. All exams must be started at least 1 hour prior to closing of business.

5. The following items are not allowed in the assessment lab and must be stored in a provided locker:

  • Electronic & Bluetooth devices (including, but not limited to: phones, music players, cameras, USB drives, headphones/earbuds, etc.)

Any cheating, suspected cheating, or possessing prohibited items on or near your testing area will be reported to your instructor and will be regarded as a violation of the Student Code of Conduct. Any violations may result in student disciplinary actions, up to and including expulsion.

Students Requesting Exam Accommodations

CWI Students that need testing accommodations will first meet with a Student Disability Services (SDS) Coordinator, and file all necessary documentation. Once accommodations have been approved, the SDS Coordinator will send a Letter of Accommodation (LOA) to your Instructor. Instructors will then proceed to complete an Alternative Testing Agreement that will allow you to schedule exams with accommodations for their class. The steps are outlined below:

  1. Student meets with an SDS Coordinator and has accommodations approved.
  2. Instructor receives LOA for each student with accommodations, and completes an Alternative Testing Agreement for each class.
  3. Once Testing Services receives the Alternative Testing Agreement from the Instructor, students can proceed to schedule their exam through their RegisterBlast account. Note: Students should always use their student email with RegisterBlast to ensure that their approved accommodations will be available at the time of scheduling. RegisterBlast uses single sign-on (SSO) technology.
  4. Arrive at the Testing Center per their scheduled appointment and location. (Same day appointments are not permitted.)

Note: Students are responsible for selecting their accommodations at the time they schedule their testing appointment. If you have any questions about scheduling with accommodations, please reach out to Testing Services.

If you would like to learn more about accommodations or helping students with disabilities, you may visit the Disability Services page for more information.
