Biography

Sherry Howard was born and raised with the U.S. Air Force. Most of her young life was spent on military bases in Texas and Louisiana. She would eventually join the U.S. Air Force herself and become a Dedicated Crew Chief (aircraft mechanic) working on A-10As and F-15Cs. Her career would send her to Europe where she was stationed in England and Holland. There she would also start her family. They returned to the States where she would begin her next stage in life as a civilian.

After raising her family, Howard would finally begin her college career, first as a student at the Community College of Southern Nevada, then as an employee/student with Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri. At Stephens College she worked with the Board of Trustees, faculty and staff, alumna, and students in making the college the premiere institution for arts and equestrian studies for women.

Howard then moved down the street to the University of Missouri flagship campus where she would spend four years with Extension. She worked closely with faculty and staff to educate farmers, ranchers, and communities on best practices for success.

In 2017, Sherry moved to Mountain Home where she joined CWI as a Basic Skills Education Teacher. For the past several years she has worked with individuals from all walks of life to study and earn their GEDs.

In her leisure time she enjoys spending time with her partner of six years, and her five cats. She is an avid crafter. She enjoys being outdoors and even enjoys fishing for trout with the man she loves.
