Writing & AI Literacy Services department

Melody Bales serves as a Supervisor in the Writing & AI Literacy Center, where she supports students and staff. In her role, she coordinates faculty partnerships, leads a team of consultants, and works directly with students and staff to strengthen writing and navigate AI use in thoughtful, ethical ways. She also serves on the Learning Commons Outreach Committee, supporting broader campus engagement.

She has been part of College of Western Idaho community for four years and is a member of its alumni network. Melody holds a degree in Anthropology and draws on that background to approach her work with curiosity, empathy, and cultural intelligence. She was presented with the Learning Commons Division Collaborator Award and elected to Staff Senate. In this role, she advocates for students and staff while supporting community-building and organizational change across CWI.
