Department Senator
Ander Sundell first became interested in geology as a young child growing up in Idaho. This interest lead him to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Geology from Boise State University in 2004. He remained on at Boise State accepting an offer to investigate Late-Stage evolution of the Variscan Orogen as exposed on the island of Sardinia, Italy, resulting in a master's degree in Geology with a emphasis in Structural Geology. Sundell's prior teaching experience was primarily field oriented, with emphasis on bedrock geologic mapping. He was hired as full-time geology faculty in Fall 2011 and teaches a variety of classes at College of Western Idaho including Physical Geology, Historical Geology, Environmental Geology, and Field Geology.
