CWI Giving Day Raises Over $43,000 to Support Students [1]

College of Western Idaho’s (CWI) third annual Giving Day [2] was a tremendous success, generating $43,093 in support of student success and campus programs.
Support from donors — whether through gifts, event participation, or sharing the message — helped fuel meaningful opportunities across the College. More than 159 alumni, students, employees, and community members contributed to this impactful day, funding scholarships, programs, and critical student resources.
A highlight of the campaign was the $13,090 raised for CWI’s Food Pantries. With five locations across campus, these pantries provide free food and hygiene products to students and employees experiencing food insecurity. Contributions help ensure students remain focused on their education rather than basic needs.
Additional campaign highlights included:
- 28% of donations came from faculty and staff
- $2,450 raised for student scholarships
- $1,665 directed to the Campus Garden
Generous matching gifts from community partners — Albertsons Companies Foundation [3], the Ford Idaho Center [4], and the Kroger Foundation [5] — added over $10,000 to the total, further strengthening support for students and the campus community.
“On behalf of CWI, I would like to express my deepest gratitude for your support of CWI Giving Day,” said CWI President Gordon Jones. “Your generosity is truly appreciated, and it will make a significant impact on our students and this community. As an institution, we are committed to providing our students with the best education and opportunities imaginable. The success of CWI Giving Day makes it possible for us to continue providing affordable, accessible education that leads to personal empowerment.”
Appreciation is extended to all donors and supporters whose involvement contributed to the success of this year’s Giving Day.
