Honor Society Helping Dual Credit Students Make the Most Out of Their CWI Experience

Published: October 25, 2022

Are you a Dual Credit College of Western Idaho (CWI) student feeling out of place on campus? CWI's Beta Sigma Pi Honor Society, a chapter of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK), wants to help! The club will host a series of workshops geared towards helping Dual Credit students feel more integrated on campus and make the most out of their time while at CWI at a conference Saturday, Nov. 5.

The half-day conference invites students and their parents to attend workshops on topics, such as financial literacy, designing your future, and public speaking, as well as hear from a panel of CWI faculty and staff who are also community college graduates. Students will also have a chance to interact with faculty and fellow dual credit students, win CWI swag, and hear words of advice from campus leadership.

Breakfast and lunch snacks will be provided.

"As students who strive for excellence and success, we want to help others do the same," said CWI’s PTK Chapter President, Maria Generalova. "Financial literacy, public speaking, communication, and understanding of what future you want to build for yourself are very essential nowadays. That is why we want to provide the opportunity for dual credit students to learn these skills in the early stages of their life’s journey. We want to share with them tools that can improve and maximize their experience at College of Western Idaho and set them for success."
