What is the designation I will receive after taking the certification exam?
After taking the course and successfully passing the CPC exam, you will have the designation of CPC-A, which is an apprentice designation. Before an individual can obtain a CPC designation, they must have at least two years of medical coding experience. If at the time of taking the exam, you submit proof of two years of experience, you may qualify for the CPC designation. Otherwise, you will be a CPC-A until the two years of experience is completed. You can learn more information about the designations at AAPC.com.
