Return-to-Campus for COVID 19 (HR – RTW COVID-19)

CWI General Guidelines

In general, this procedure is to help support employees as they return to on-site work at College of Western Idaho (CWI) and students as they return to campus. CWI is committed to a campus where all personnel and all students are safe and comfortable returning to CWI facilities. CWI will ensure an adequate supply of disinfecting wipes and sanitizers prior to employees and students returning to campus. Please refer to the Return To Onsite Operations plan for guidance on CWI phases in alignment with the State of Idaho Rebound plan. There will be NO EXCEPTIONS to this SOP; the safety of students, faculty, and staff is of the utmost importance to the College.

  1. Limited occupancy is based on State of Idaho guidelines.
  2. Building Entrance – If marked, use designated entrance and exit.
    1. Doorways are to remain open in order to increase ventilation and air flow when possible.
    2. When possible, employees should utilize the automatic door features when available.
  3. Daily Symptom Self-Assessment – Each day, prior to arrival, employees and students will complete a symptom self-assessment.
  4. Practice good social distancing including but not limited to:
    1. Restrooms
    2. Breakrooms, printer/work rooms, and other areas
    3. Elevators
    4. Employees and students are responsible to wipe down the breakroom areas before using. Disinfectant wipes will be provided in spaces designated as open.
    5. Only access space on campus that is necessary and utilize skype, telephone, or other technology for any conversations.
    6. When moving throughout a building.
  5. Practice good sanitation including but not limited to:
    1. Upon entering a classroom or touching shared surfaces, wash your hands with soap and water for 20 seconds or use an approved hand sanitizer.
    2. Sanitize any touched surfaces, especially shared surfaces (ie: keyboards, telephones, hand-held devices, work tools. equipment, appliances) at the beginning of the day, throughout the day, and at the end of the day.  CWI will provide disinfectant wipes.
    3. The use of hand sanitizer is required when entering labs, classrooms or workspace and after contact with any surfaces. CWI will provide hand sanitizer.
    4. Sanitizer and disinfectant wipes will be provided in specific locations that are open by CWI.
  6. Employees and students on campus are required to wear a face covering following the below guidelines.
    1. When entering, exiting, or moving throughout a building, employees and students must wear a mask.
    2. Individuals working in a private office/workspace without others in the space will not be required to have a face covering on. Should someone enter the space all individuals must then put on their face covering.
    3. CWI employees can choose to wear their own face covering or CWI will make face coverings available.  Please speak with your supervisor or EOT member regarding obtaining a CWI-provided face mask.  A small supply of disposable masks will be available at the security desks if employees forget to bring a mask with them beginning on May 11, 2020.     4. Students and visitors are expected to provide their own face coverings.
  7. Only visitors with a business need will be allowed onsite, all visitors will follow protocols.
  8. All meetings will continue to be held online. Conference rooms will be available if social distancing can be achieved.  Conference rooms will be cleaned and sanitized by meeting organizer.
  9. Employees with specific SOP’s for their work area should refer to those documents for further guidance or contact their manager.
  10. Students with specific SOP’s for their labs or classrooms should refer to those documents for further guidance or contact their instructor.

All occupants, including employees, are responsible to comply with this SOP.
